JIRN members can use the below form to submit their publication for inclusion in JIRN’s Justice Infomation Center (JIC). The JIC is a searchable database of the research and evaluation work of the Justice Information Resource Network’s staff, members, and partners. The JIC also includes other open-access and public-domain research-based materials. The JIC’s contents are from the national, state, and local levels covering a range of crime and justice topics grouped into several Communities and Collections based on our projects.

Example 1:
This report examines patterns of firearm violence across North Carolina over the most recent five-year period, with attention to variation across rural, urban, and suburban communities. The analysis identifies clear temporal trends and significant demographic and geographic disparities that can inform targeted prevention and policy responses. Overall, the findings underscore the need for differentiated strategies that address both interpersonal firearm violence and suicide, with targeted approaches for high-risk populations and communities.
Example 2:
The 2025 Illinois Death in Custody Annual Report analyzes statewide data from law enforcement, corrections, and juvenile justice agencies (2021–2025), focusing on 2025. That year saw 170 deaths—the highest in five years—primarily in state prisons due to natural causes, with most decedents male and either Black or White. Improved data quality protocols and expanded agency outreach reduced missing records. To meet statutory requirements, ICJIA also launched two prevention initiatives: a literature review and stakeholder interviews. Findings underscore the need for high-quality data, cross-agency collaboration, and evidence-based strategies to reduce deaths in custody.
