NIBRS Working Group meeting
The NIBRS Working Group will hold its second meeting on November 12 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM ET. This meeting will focus on NIBRS trends and data visualization. Two members of the working group will share their work:
Bobby Boxerman, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Studies at Southern Illinois University, will present a dashboard he developed for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. This dashboard was created for the department and other community partners to be able to easily grab statistics and crime trends for this city and includes incident data with victim and injury information.
Thomas Strauss, Director of the Idaho Statistical Analysis Center, will present their Crime in Idaho Data Dashboard. This dashboard allows users to explore much of the data housed in the Idaho Incident-Based Reporting System, Idaho’s vast repository of law enforcement data on criminal incidents that occur within Idaho and the same data set that drives the annual Crime in Idaho report series.
Working Group members should have received an invitation. If you haven’t, or if you would like to join the NIBRS working group, but are interested, please contact us.
