Policy Analyst (Washington, DC)
The DC Criminal Justice Coordinating Council is hiring a Policy Analyst! CJCC works to improve public safety and the fair administration justice for DC residents, visitors, and people involved in the justice system. We collaborate with over a dozen different District and federal agencies to conduct data analysis, research, training, and technical assistance, centering around four issue areas: violence, juvenile justice, substance use and mental health, and corrections. This position involves conducting analysis of existing policies, practices, and legislation and making recommendations for amendments and next steps; convening staff from District and federal agencies as well as social and behavioral service providers to collaborate on policy development; providing or organizing training and technical assistance with government actors and service providers; and supporting transparency and public communication through community meetings. Policy analysts provide issue area expertise in one of the four core domains of CJCC’s work and key project management support in the development of multi-agency projects, agency policy, and local legislation. We’re looking for candidates with strong project management skills, issue area expertise, and experience with training and technical assistance. This is a great opportunity to support the District in continuously improving our justice and public safety systems through policy design and cross-system collaboration. CJCC follows a hybrid work schedule of 3 days a week in the office.
Salary: $93,000 – $120,000
