JIRN Brown Bag: New York State’s Juvenile Dashboards

This free Brown bag webinar features New York State Statistical Analysis Center staff who will present two Tableau dashboards detailing data from the state’s juvenile justice system. Stefan Ivanov will present Racial and Ethnic Disparities (RED) in the Youth Justice System, which shows the racial and ethnic breakdown of cases at several youth justice processing points. Presenting these data alongside the racial and ethnic composition of the youth population for the relevant county or region, the RED dashboard helps illuminate the extent of racial and ethnic disparities in New York State’s youth justice system. Jeeyoung Chung will discuss the Youth Justice Indicators Dashboard. This project introduces dynamic, filterable dashboards that visualize multi-year, county-level youth justice data to support informed decision-making by practitioners and the public. By using interactive visualizations, the project seeks to make NYS youth justice data more accessible and user-friendly, encouraging greater public engagement with the information.
