JIRN Brownbag: Arizona Youth Survey – Substance Awareness Coalitions Dashboard

August 26 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Computer graphic with webinar

The Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) in partnership with the Arizona State University School of Criminology & Criminal Justice administers the Arizona Youth Survey (AYS) every two years to a statewide sample of 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students. The AYS assesses the prevalence and frequency of youth substance use, gang involvement, and other risky behaviors, and the risk and protective factors correlated with these behaviors. In order to better serve Arizona’s substance awareness coalitions, the ACJC SAC has developed a coalition-specific AYS dashboard. This tool allows coalitions to easily query, view, and create customized AYS reports with data specific to the youth in their communities. Recognizing the vital role these organizations play, the SAC prioritized making essential data for programming and prevention efforts readily accessible. This brown bag session will offer a brief overview of the AYS and a demonstration of the new substance awareness coalition AYS dashboard.
