The Justice Information Resource Network Marketing Coordinator is an integral part of the Membership and Strategic Communications Team. The Marketing Coordinator supports the organization’s outreach and membership efforts and performs a variety of functions related to growth, support, and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator, under supervision from the Membership and Strategic Communications Director, will have the following responsibilities:

  • Working closely beside other team members to develop a social media strategy to create, publish, and distribute content across multiple social media channels. Once the strategy is approved the Marketing Coordinator will be solely responsible for the social media postings, and tracking and monitoring which content is read.
  • Email marketing and the building and management of mailing lists, segmentation of users based on interests, and the drafting and distribution of communications.
  • Event management, helping stakeholders prepare for conferences, meetings, webinars, etc. through coordination and organization with partners and potential vendors. The Marketing Coordinator will help prepare and manage video-conferencing for virtual events as well as physical space(s) for in-person conferences/meetings.
  • Drafting, distributing, and conducting follow up on press releases.
  • Maintaining search engine optimization for the organization’s website by conducting regular website audits and completing reports and providing recommendations for achieving better search results.
  • Support member engagement in the Justice Research Community by monitoring discussion board postings and responding to member inquiries submitted to the general organizational email.
  • Create graphics for social media use and for the research team to support their promotion and dissemination of research (graphics, fact sheets, etc.)
  • Collaborate with team members as needed on related projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Criminology, Marketing, or Communications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Experience with Adobe products, Canva, or other graphic design tools is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Compensation

This is a part-time position (16 hours per week); compensation is $22-$25/hr.
